Phoebe is a Quadra girl through and through, and she’s back home to work and chill with friends after university. Little does she know that she has a date with a blue chanterelle that will change her world view forever. And lucky for Quadra too – Phoebe’s unexpected new connection to the supernatural world just might be the only thing that can save the island as we know and love it.

George Nickoloff is a writer and musician who has called Quadra Island home since 1994. He has written songs his entire life, and loves performing fun, shout-along rock and roll anthems with his bands The Campfire Boys, Love Handles Messiah, Sack O Hammers, and GoDogGo. Musical theatre was an unexpected turn for George, who adored playing and perfecting the voice of the evil wizard in Theatre Quadra’s Aladdin. In 2025, he wrote the songs for the Chris Thompson play Murder at the Queenie, in which he also played the dead writer. “I have learned so much from my wonderful friends at Theatre Quadra. In Queenie, I played guitar, acted, sang, danced, and attempted semi-appropriate facial expressions all at the same time. I danced like a 2×4, for sure, but still, I did it!”. He loves this opportunity to collaborate on such a fun project with Anna.

Much like Phoebe, Anna Nickoloff is also a Quadra girl through and through. She has been involved in Quadra Theatre in many ways over the years, including playing in the band for Chris Thompson’s Monsters in the Closet, helping with sound in Jack and the Beanstalk and the 2015 Take 10s, and prompting for last year’s production of Murder at the Queenie. She fell in love with being on stage during her time in the Carihi Musicals including Legally Blonde, Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, The Addams Family, and Beauty and the Beast. During her time at the University of Victoria, she was a part of the UVic Drama and Musical Theatre Club, both acting in and musical directing their productions of The Heathers and Into the Woods. She has been a long time lover of writing, as evidenced by a childhood obsession with writing silly poems, a teenage love of writing music, and an adulthood of writing scientific papers. Writing Boo: The Musical has been a very fun opportunity to get back into the creative writing she loved as a kid and spend time with her dad. She hopes you enjoy watching it, as much as she enjoyed creating it.
