Chicago Auditions

Theatre Quadra is excited to begin our search for the cast and crew of Chicago!

Join us on Saturday, November 19th at the Quadra Legion at 11:30 am for auditions for Chicago!

This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging and choreography by Bob Fosse. Heidi Ridgway, who produced, co-directed, and choreographed TQ’s production of Rocky Horror Show, will once again be taking up the reins to bring us Chicago!

This will be Theatre Quadra’s spring production with performance dates on May 5, 6 and 7. Although the main leads are true triple threats, as they must act, sing and dance, there are lots of small roles. We are looking for actors, dancers, singers, musicians and acrobats to perform!

We have parts for people with all abilities! We need everyone! In the Broadway version the dancers do everything, while we can have people that just dance or people that can just sing for the chorus. No experience is required! Parents please note this is a PG production but may have one scene/song that would be suitable for 12 years old up.

We are also looking for people to be part of our production team, including a producer. If you’re interested in joining the team please come to the production meeting at 1:30 pm at the Legion directly after the auditions.

This musical comedy was written by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse in 1975 with Music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Based in the roaring twenties in Chicago, chorus girl Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap…until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on her. Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream” fame, fortune, and acquittal.

The 1996 Broadway revival holds the record as the longest-running musical revival and the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. It is the 2nd longest-running show ever to run on Broadway, behind only The Phantom of the Opera. The 2002 film adaptation starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zelwager, won the Academy Award for Best Picture. For more information, please contact Heidi at 250-202-2217 or via email at
